The Management of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti has debunked the rumours making the rounds that the Hospital did not accept transfer mode of payment from patients.
Speaking on the issue, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Professor Kayode
Olabanji, said that patients have been receiving adequate attentions with or without payment, depending on the condition of the patient.
According to him, saving lives is much more important to all staff of the Hospital, as a result, no clinical staff will refuse to attend to patients because of mode of payment.
He added that before the advent of the cashless system, Hospital staff do not collect money directly from patients, the cashiers are members of a Bank - the vendor that collects money for the Hospital, saying, available payment modes are acceptable: ATM, through the Bank POS, Money Transfer and cash if available.
The CMD explained that the Management is aware of the economic situation and recent cash crisis in the country and that will not be used as yardsticks to attend to any patient at any time.
Prof. Olabanji re-affirmed the commitment of the staff of the Hospital to the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people and also support the State Government efforts at ensuring good health for Ekiti people because "Health is Wealth".
